North San Diego County encompasses an area of about two million (2,000,000) square miles. When someone is arrested in the North San Diego County, they will eventually be transported and booked into the Vista Jail/Detention Facility. Females arrested in the North San Diego County area will be booked into the Vista Jail but may only remain there 24 hours, or less, before being transported down to the Las Colinas Detention Facility for women in Santee, California.
The Vista Jail/Detention Facility is part of the San Diego County Superior Court Complex in the City of Vista, California. The intake booking process includes, but not limited to, questions, finger prints, mug shot’s, warrant check and usually takes 1 – 6 hours to complete the booking intake part and then once a bond is posted, be it cash or surety, another 1 – 6 hours to be released. During this time the defendant waits in a jail cell known as the holding or phone tank. But if you’re arrested for DUI there is an automatic 8 – 12 hour hold placed on you before you can be released.
