In & Out Bail Bonds – Collateral: what’s that?

Collateral is something with financial value to ensure the defendant appears at every court appearance until his/her case is completed. Whether it’s left by relatives, friends or the defendant, it provides additional financial incentive to make sure the defendant appears in court when ordered. Collateral is anything of value (that’s legal). If the defendant fails to appear in court, and is unable to be located in the time allowed, Vista Bail Bonds® would use the collateral to pay the court for the forfeited bond.
