The Dumbest DUI Chase

Getting a DUI (Driving Under the Influence) because you unwisely got behind the wheel of a vehicle after you had been drinking and then drive is never a good idea and not okay. You know what is a super duper dumb idea that’s really not okay? Passing through an intersection, right in front of a police car, without stopping for a red light while you are driving under the influence of alcohol. Then lead the police on a short chase, before stopping for a STOP sign, then speed away again until you pull into a driveway, only to realize it’s your driveway. So you try to escape the driveway by ramming the police car over and over again before you forge a new path over the back yard landscaping.
DUI Chase
That’s what 25-year-old Sally Kurgis is accused of doing, according to this dash cam video posted over at CarScoops from the police officer whose car was rammed. Some people just don’t get it or know when to quit, and Sally Kurgis must be one of those people who don’t get either one. What possibly could have been going through her mind about how the outcome would end here exactly? Did she expect the Police to just move out of her way and forget about the whole incident? The best part is how she figured that if she blasted her music real loud while honking her horn the entire time that it might possibly cause enough confusion the police wouldn’t notice how she was desperately attempting to relocate the police car that was blocking her Nissan Rogues preferred exit route to freedom.

MyFoxPhilly says Kurgis faces a possible nine vehicle code charges plus a felonious assault charge, a resisting arrest charge and a reckless operation of a motor vehicle. And as our pal Jack Baruth over at TTAC points out, the incident is hilariously ironic considering her dad is an attorney mildly famous for suing people responsible for distracted driving wrecks.
