Police finally were able to track down and arrest a four legged canine criminal after a trail of thefts left store employees checking their CCTV only to discover the culprit was a Siberian husky helping himself to their stock by stealing bones and treats in a snoutlifting spree lasting over two weeks and involving multiple stores.
A Siberian husky Canine culprit named Cato helped himself to the best Canine dog food, treats and toys.
Staff at the general store thought they’d gone ‘barking mad’ when a serial shoplifter was revealed as crafty canine Cato the Siberian husky dog.
The shop workers had decided to check their CCTV after a spate of thefts at their general store in Clinton, South Carolina kept making a mess and leaving a trail to the exit.
But, they were surprised to find that it was a crafty four-legged furry bandit who was responsible for their stock missing.
In fact the footage showed Cato casually waiting for the door to open so he could help himself to bones, dog food and pigs ears that he then buried nearby.
And it’s not the first time he has visited local businesses as he’s also been spotted in Pizza Hut, BI-LO and a local Ingles store.
The furry thief, who had managed to get off his lead before the shoplifting spree, was arrested by police and had to spend time in a pound.
The officers, who described it as their best arrest ever, even filled out a report for fun, but all the stores involved with the canine crime spree said they didn’t want to press charges.
